This website is devoted to preserving the Legacy of the horses that roam the area known now as the Sheldon National Wildlife Refuge. The Refuge plans to remove all of the horses from the range.

The Sheldon horses were America’s cavalry horses. They served alongside our troops and carried them to battle.

Often Sheldon horses were not protected as they were removed and ended up in slaughterhouses. Roundups often showed horrific images including foals left in the desert to die. We carry active litigation to make sure not one more Sheldon goes to slaughter.

This site is intended to preserve the legacy of the Sheldon Mustang.

Site is a project of Wild Horse Education please support the work done by this organization.
